My notes

Comprehensible input channel. Useful for immersion-style listening without subtitles or heavy scaffolding.

Comprehensible input channels work by giving you content you can mostly understand without looking things up, which builds fluency through volume rather than through drilling. I used Acquire Mandarin in the same way I'd use extended reading — with the aim of time-in-language rather than explicit vocabulary acquisition. The feedback loop is slower than flashcards but the naturalness of the exposure makes it a useful complement to more structured study methods.
